Das Mahavidhya

Welcome to Dash Mahavidyas

Welcome to our website, a space dedicated to exploring the Dash Mahavidyas — the Ten Great Wisdom Forms of the Divine Feminine (Shakti)

The word Mahavidya means “Great Wisdom” or “Great Divine Knowledge.” The Dash Mahavidyas are traditionally understood as ten distinct manifestations of the one Supreme Divine Shakti, with each form representing a unique aspect of spiritual wisdom, consciousness, and the divine feminine.

The ten Mahavidyas are:

  1. Kali — transformation, time, and liberation
  2. Tara — protection, compassion, and guidance
  3. Tripura Sundari (Shodashi) — beauty, love, and divine consciousness
  4. Bhuvaneshwari — the Cosmic Mother and ruler of the universe
  5. Bhairavi — spiritual power, discipline, and transformation
  6. Chhinnamasta — sacrifice, self-realization, and transformation
  7. Dhumavati — detachment, wisdom, and the deeper truths of life
  8. Bagalamukhi — victory, protection, and the power to restrain negativity
  9. Matangi — knowledge, speech, music, and creativity
  10. Kamala — prosperity, abundance, and good fortune
